Jamai Raja Trailer: Presenting Ravi Dubey as the (over)confident son-in-law in Akshay Kumar’s maiden show!
Coming soon will be Bollywood star Akshay Kumar with a brand new show on Zee TV titled ‘Jamai Raja’.
In a female centric TV world that runs high on sarees, bindis, gossip and melodrama, men are generally reduced to a mere prop, only to be used if and when needed. But ‘Jamai Raja’ being a new entrant in the domain is hopeful of breaking the perception.
Starring actor Ravi Dubey, ‘Jamai Raja’ is a story of a son-in-law who takes it upon himself to juggle relationships with a smile on his face. The show will also bring into arclights an unhappy mother-daughter relationship which gets a new lease of life due to the Jamai Raja’s efforts.
The promo of the show makes us feel as if the concept has been borrowed from the namesake Hindi film of the 90s era (or perhaps from Akshay’s own life as Jamai…wink wink) starring Madhuri Dixit, Hema Malini and Anil Kapoor. But what is hilarious about the promo is the sudden popping up of Ravi from nowhere to dispel the doubts of the people around him as if he was eavesdropping their conversation with no other business in hand.

'Jamai Raja' will also feature actress Nia Sharma ('Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai' fame), Achint Kaur, and Delnaz Paul. The show will go on air in August 2014 and will be replacing ‘Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dor Se.’
