Jodha-Akbar: Once his favourite Begum, Ruqaiya has now become hate material for Jalal!
Ruqaiya Begum is fast on her way to lose her goodwill before Emperor Jalal as she the charges she has leveled against Jodha Begum for breaking the rule of Mughal Harem have failed to bear expected results. Ruqaiya had secretly placed Krishna idols in the Hindu maid quarters so that she could later blame Jodha Begum for abetting the practice of Hindu worship in the Harem.
However, it was Ruqaiya’s turn to get upbraided by Jalal as the Emperor had done his homework before hearing the matter. Jalal not just dismissed the plea by Ruqaiya and other Begums to take an action against Jodha for her misdeed but he also warned his First Begum to beware of causing any harm to the naïve Rajput princess.
To sum it up, it was not Ruqaiya Begum’s day! Looks like she has to come up with a better plan to salvage her position in Jalal’s life. No?
