World AIDS Day: Celebs voice their opinion on rooting for making the nation AIDS free!

Today happens to World AIDS Day. Once a dreaded disease, AIDS had caused much trauma to the victims due to the stigma attached to it. However, things are changing for good now as social campaigns are being carried out to bring awareness about the disease. We checked with some TV actors to know if they feel celebs taking part in AIDS campaigns is a good measure.

Puneet Sachdev - It definitely makes an impact. People look up to celebrities. If a celebrity like Mr. Amitabh Bacchan or Sachin Tendulkar says something, every body notices. Mr. Bachchan started the anti-polio campaign and now India is a polio free country. I am not saying it makes an impact on every body but even if one single life is saved because of it its absolutely worth it.

Simple Kaul - Celebrities are in a position where people look up to them and like to follow them. They are like role models for a lot of people. It definitely makes an impact and awareness level for sure is more when a celebrity endorses.

Veebha Anand - I think celebrities should do awareness campaigns as leaves better impact on public. When a celeb is doing a good work, then his/her fans will surely follow the action.

Jaswir Kaur - If a celebrity does awareness campaigns, it does make difference as the people watch them, believe them, follow them and agree to them. Being safe and careful is better for each one’s life, people think of "Fun for that moment" can make them cry till their last day... It's not that people are not sensible; they are just too careless.

Ravi Dubey - Definitely, I think when celebrities do awareness campaigns, it gives more benefits. Agree, it is a dreadful disease. However, things have changed dramatically as far as AIDS awareness is concerned.

Krrip Kapur Suri - Celebrities are like icons for common people and this influences them to follow all their campaigns. It’s a good thing that famous faces are spreading this awareness and being an actor I feel this is right.

Saurabh Raaj Jain - Because public generally follows celebrities views and opinions, so awareness campaigns by celebrities of every field impact public thinking.

Vishal Singh - I definitely feel it will have great impact on people. People pay more attention when celebrities do such activities. When I was not famous, I used to follow the message given by social campaigns.

Himmanshoo Ashok Malhotra - People identify with celebrities, they look up to them and idolize them. When celebrities come up and take the initiative of creating social awareness, people listen to them and agree with them and try and implement that in their life.

Vivian Dsena - It does impact people when celebrities do awareness campaigns because people listen to celebrities.

Shashank Vyas - if celebrities take interest in AIDS campaigns, it will have a wider impact. Many brands hire celebrities to sell their product more. Similarly, if celebrities talk about this issue, people may give heed to it.

Gunjan Utreja - Celebrities have their share of fan following and definitely it helps in bringing awareness to all sorts of issues. In my opinion all public figures should take up the opportunity to come out and support more such causes.

Rohit Bhardwaj - Everyone follows what celebrities says. Shah Rukh Khan is a big star. Whatever he says, people surely take it seriously. Even Sachin Tendulkar is taken seriously by masses and classes.

Yuvraaj Malhottra - In our society, youngsters are very affected from Bollywood. Film/TV actresses and actors are idolized. People hear them, copy them; so in a way they believe in what the celebs do is right. When celebrities come ahead for a good cause, this face value definitely helps and leaves a good impact on people.

Gunjan Utreja - Celebrities have their share of fan following and definitely it helps in bringing awareness to all sorts of issues. In my opinion all public figures should take opportunities to come out and support more such causes.

Rashami Desai - When a celebrity supports a cause, it makes a difference. AIDS awareness is a necessity. People do take celebrities seriously. When SRK or Hrithik Roshan support a cause, it is taken very seriously.
