Watch: Shilpa Shinde recalls the day when she called off her wedding with ex-boyfriend Romit Roy

There’s no denying the fact that Shilpa Shinde is one of the strongest contestants in the Bigg Boss house. She has faced many ups and downs in her professional as well as personal life. 

Since the day she entered the house, she is in the limelight for her ugly spat with producer Vikas Gupta, who is also a contestant on the same show. However, the two have become good friends now. 

Now, an unseen video is going viral where Shilpa is seen talking about the time when she called-off her wedding with her longtime boyfriend Romit Roy. Shilpa and  Romit were supposed to get married in 2008, but at the last moment they mutually called it off.

In the video, she is seen telling Puneesh that she is infamous for running away from things and she even ran away from her marriage. She said, ‘’I was about to get married. But I ran away.I am like this only, I leave things (laughs).’’ But she added that the same won’t be the case with Bigg Boss 11. “I have a contract and I can’t run away from this show, anyway I won’t run away from this show,” she said.

A few days back, Romit had come out in support of Shilpa when her fight with Vikas had turned ugly. He had said, ‘’I am not watching Bigg Boss 11. But when my name was taken on the show, I had to watch it, because fans on social media started messaging me. So I saw the episode and the fight too. And I think Shilpa is smart and intelligent. She didn’t say much when it came to me. We know that people tend to get into arguments on Bigg Boss. People insult each other. And then things get sorted too. The smart person is that who is just a spectator of all the fights and that is the one who will win the show.’’

Talking about her marriage Shilpa had said in an earlier interview that, ''I had left everything because of my marriage. As a girl I know what my responsibility towards my husband and his family is and I used to do everything according to his will. I kept all his family members in mind but he still expected more from me.’’

"My wedding preparations were done, my wedding outfit was ready, I had even bought my jewellery and the cards were also printed. It is very sad that I had to call off my marriage one month prior to the actual date. But I feel it is a wise decision and I am very happy that at least now I won't have to make adjustments for each and every single thing. I will now be able to take my own decisions," the actress had further added.
