Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke Written Update, August 24, 2019: Kunal marries Kuhu

In the latest episode, Abir and Mishti confess their love to each other. Mishti gets emotional but Abir cheers her up by his jokes. At the wedding, Nidhi panics over the sacred knot burning and blames Kuhu for the bad omen. Parul defends Kuhu and fixes the knot. The priest asks them to not worry as the circumambulation (phere) has been completed and he requests them to complete the final ritual. Abir confronts Mishti if she said all of those things because of Meenakshi. He gets up and asks Mishti to come home. Mishti refuses as she doesn’t want to cause more problems by going back. Abir tells her that in the end love triumphs and if they’re together nothing can stop them.

The priest asks Kunal to put the nuptial chain (mangalsutra) around the bride’s neck. Kunal refuses and shocks everyone. Everyone gets worried. On their way, Mishti thinks about all the things she said and tells Abir that she’s worried how will she pacify everyone. Abir tells her that he’s here to listen and understand her for her whole life but there’s not much time left for the wedding to get over so they need to be there first. She still isn’t convinced that she should go back. Abir shows her the chain he bought for her. He asks her to see the girl in the mirror pendant and tells her that she can solve all problems. He gifts her the chain and asks her to look at her reflection whenever she has self doubt. Mishti feels better and agrees to go home with Abir. 

Kunal asks where Abir is and Yashpal informs him that he will be back soon as he is out for some work. Kunal feels helpless and angry. They complete all of the rituals and Rajshri asks Vishambhar to allow her to talk to Mishti now as the wedding has been completed. Nidhi searches the house to find Kunal’s shoes but Jasmeet had placed empty shoe boxes to trick Nidhi. Later, Mishti arrives back home with Abir. Rajshri is overwhelmed to see her back wearing the dress she stitched for her. Mishti apologises to Kuhu and everyone else for what she said the other day. Kunal walks out angrily. Meenakshi follows him to talk. Kunal lashes out on Meenakshi and makes her realise that she has lost. He is furious that he has to now endure this marriage because of her. They see Varsha and Rajshri arrive as they talk. 

Nidhi lies about finding out where Kunal’s shoes are and Jasmeet calls her a liar and begins to banter. Later, Mishti apologises to Shaurya and Yashpal tells the family that she deserves a chance to rectify along with whatever punishment she’s getting. Nidhi interrupts Yashpal and accidentally asks what if Kunal ran away again making the Maheshwari family suspicious as it implies that he tried to run away before. Ketki tries to cover it up by saying that her mother said ‘again’ referring to the engagement she ran away from. Meanwhile, Kunal and Meenakshi think that Varsha and Rajshri overheard Kunal saying that he’s forcefully getting married. But Varsha and Rajshri think that Kunal is upset because of Mishti returning. Rajshri requests Kunal to come back. Kunal comes back and Jasmeet exclaims that thank god he returned because they thought he would run away. Rajshri makes Jasmeet quiet.

Later, everyone playfully fights about Kunal’s shoes. Mishti tricks Abir and gets one shoe that Abir had. Everyone happily celebrates but Kunal yells at everyone to stop. He is furious so Kuhu apologises on everyone’s behalf. Abir asks Kuhu to not apologise and gets disappointed with Kunal’s behaviour. Rajshri makes everyone understand that the groom is anxious on his wedding but everyone tends to pay attention to only the bride. She asks everyone to take care of Kunal too as nobody has even offered any food to him since he came. Abir tries to ask Kunal if there’s any problem but Kunal diverts the discussion and asks if they should begin with their farewell. Yashpal jokes and says that he’s too eager to take Kuhu home.

Later, Meenakshi goes to a room and cries. Ketki arrives and she quickly wipes her tears. Ketki asks her to suggest some game to welcome Kuhu as Abir has asked her to plan something. Meenakshi tells her that she has something in mind and she will surprise them with it when they get home. Ketki leaves feeling happy. Meenakshi thinks to herself that she will win back her sons soon. Everyone poses for the family photo. Jasmeet asks Mishti to stand somewhere else so she goes to the back. Abir goes to stand with her and holds her hand. Later, Kuhu bids goodbye to the family. At the end, she hugs Mishti and asks her to take care of the family. Surprisingly, after talking to Abir, Kunal goes to Nidhi to ask her for the gift money for the ritual of stealing shoes. He hands it over to Mishti and talks to her about resolving all conflicts between them. He interrupts her while she talks and hugs her. Everyone is surprised to see this. As Kunal hugs Mishti he whispers that he should save the money he just gave him as Kuhu will need it when she comes back home after her marriage fails. Mishti is stunned by what Kunal said and worries about what he meant as Kuhu and Kunal walk away.
