Today in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, we see how Kartik feels guilty while Manish comforts him. Later, Kirti visits the Goenkas while Kartik's absence is conspicuous.

In previous episode, we see how amidst the Mehendi ceremony, Kirti shares her miseries with Kartik. Later, Naira makes a romantic declaration before the guests. While Naira celebrates their association with open heart, Kartik continuously worries for Kirti’s condition. Just then a small circuit catches sparks while Kirti and Naira were close to it. Both Naksh and Kartik run to save their respective sisters. Seeing Naksh go to Naira, Kirti feels the distance in their relationship, which became evident to Kartik also. Kartik feels guilty for being the reason behind Naksh’s distance from Kirti. Soon the mehendi functions get over and Kartik, with heavy heart plans to leave just when he is stopped by Naira.
Naira expresses how disappointed she was with Kartik’s boring nature, as he seemed to be too shy to express his love to Naira. Continuously, Kartik’s mind wanders towards Kirti. Kartik sees off Naira and tells her that he had loads of love for her and that nothing inside him can change that feeling for her. Seeing Kartik worried, Manish brings ginger tea for him and asks him the reason for his worry. Kartik shares his worries with Manish and asks him whether or not he was a good brother. Manish assures Kartik that he was a perfect brother and that he should stop blaming himself for Kirti’s sufferings.
Later, Naira asks Kirti whether or not she was the reason behind Kartik and Kirti’s quietness as Kartik had not connected with her after leaving from there. Kirti wonders if she had committed a mistake by sharing her sufferings with Kartik, as she feels she might be the reason behind his bad mood. Here, Kartik has a bad dream about Kirti’s death and fears her safety. Kartik in his dream saw that Kirti was planning to commit suicide as Naira took Krish away with her. Kaveri tells Kirti to go to the Goenka house and get the haldi for Naira while Naira took care of Krish for her. Kirti comes to the Goenka house where she learns Kartik was missing and wonders if that was because of her.
