Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai: Shaurya aka Yash Gera’s eye opening experience!
Actor Yash Gera who is currently playing the new Shaurya in Rajan Shahi’s ‘Yeh Ristha Kya Kehlata Hai’ had developed Cataract in his eye. He had been facing eye problem since fifteen days but he took it casually thinking it is because of travelling and dust.
When he noticed his vision getting somewhat blurred, he sought out a doctor and was shocked to know that he has developed Cataract. The probable reason he was told was too much thinking and emotional stress. He says, "I was shocked to know I have got cataract in the eye as usually it doesn’t happen to people very young. I am only twenty seven. I have been operated successfully and for a month at least I will have to wear glasses till I don't recover. I am trying to manage my shoot as there can’t be a substitute in front of the camera. When there is excess light during the shoot it really hurts. I am wearing glares throughout the time except when I am in front of the camera. My character doesn't wear spectacles or glares so I can’t do so on-screen".
On being asked if he was scared of getting his eye operated, Yash said, “Yes, I was damn scared of the operation because eyes are very sensitive part of my body. The doctor had told me that after recovering from the operation, I will have to wear spectacles as eyes have become weak. It was really painful. I wish that not even my enemy should develop cataract.”
