Diya Aur Baati Hum: Suraj has a trick up his sleeve to mend cracks in Bhabho-Sandhya's relationship; Emily heartbroken to learn about Mohit’s affair
In the recent episode, Sadhya visits a café in Pushkar to meet her senior officer Bharat (Jiten Lalwani). Since, the duos share a good personal and professional rapport, Sandhya ensures she meets Bharat over a cup of coffee.
During their meeting, Bharat finds Sandhya lost and asks her to share if she is in a problem. Sandhya opens up about the issues she has been facing with Bhabho ever since she returned to her family after getting done with Mission Mahabali She talks about leaving her IPS work to look after her family full time. Bharat asks her to refrain from leaving official duties and offers moral support to her. Lalima’s brother Lokesh happens to be at the same café co-incidentally and records the entire meeting in his cell phone. He shows the video to Lalima and at her behest, he edits it in such a way that Sandhya appears to be complaining about her issues with Bhabho and how she is being troubled. Lokesh and Lalima pass on the edited video to the Mahila Mandal and file a complaint on Sandhya’s behalf against her troublesome in-laws.
On the day of Karva Chauth, the Mahila Mandal women reach the Rathi house with placards and shouting slogans against Bhabho. They criticise her for troubling Sandhya and force her to apologise. Sandhya, Bhabho, Suraj and the entire Rathi family gets shocked to behold the women protesting against Bhabho. While, Lalima and Lokesh rejoice to see their plan working against Sandhya, Bhabho gets furious and all the more enrage to see Sandhya stoop so low in her bid to reclaim her status in the family. Sandhya, however, begs Bhabho to believe her and scolds the Mahila Mandal women for protesting against her loving MIL without any solid proof. The women show the video recording to the Rathis at last. Sandhya rubbishes the video and asserts that it has been tampered with. This trick employed by Lalima and Lokesh works as a nail in the coffin. Later, Suraj wonders who could be planning to foster hatred between Bhabho and Sandhya. Meanwhile, Bhabho’s BP drips due and she resolves to avoid food until Suraj accepts Lalima as his wife and chucks Sandhya.
On the other hand, Sandhya decides to find out who recorded her chat with Officer Bharat at the café. She asks the café staff to inform her when they are able to retrieve the CCTV footage.
Emily, meanwhile, is shows distressed with her so-called husband Mohit. She learns about her husband’s extra-marital affair with another woman. Shocked and angry, she breaks her Karva Chauth fast by eating food in the market. Sandhya watches Emily breaking her fast before time and asks her if all is well between her and Mohit. Emily breaks down and reveals that her relationship with Mohit is nothing but compromise. She recalls how Bhabho told her to compromise with Mohit for family’s sake. Moreover, Bhabho was not keen on allowing working women in the family when she realised how giving too much freedom to Sandhya backfired.
Sandhya empathises with Emily and sobs for her. We also see that Suraj has a trick up his sleeve to bring back happiness and unity in his family.
