Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani: Ranaji and Gayatri’s reunion goes kaput as Ranaji’s first love Sulakshna comes out from the dead!
Ranaji and Gayatri were on the verge of consummating their marriage, but it was not meant to be. As we reported earlier, apart from Ranaji's aunt Kokila and her evil husband as well as son Lakshya, there is another veiled woman who is keeping a tab on Ranaji and Gayatri's moves and does not want them to become one. So, we were expecting trouble in the royal couple's newfound paradise and that is exactly what has happened recently.
In the recent episode, we saw Ranaji and Rani Gayatri celebrating Karvachauth. Raj Mata happily witnesses the royal couple sharing romantic moments amidst the celebrations. Ranaji corrects his mistake by anointing Gayatri’s head with sindoor and duly accepts her as his wife. Gayatri gets ecstatic to see her dream come true. However, before Ranaji could offer water to Gayatri to break her fast, Badi Rani Ma (Surekha Sikri) returns to the palace and asks Ranaji to stop the celebrations. Ranaji, Raj Mata and Gayatri get shocked to behold Rani Sulakshna standing before them. Badi Rani says that Sulakshna was not dead as she survived the fall from the cliff. Ranaji, on the other hand, is unable to believe his eyes and refuses to believe that the woman is really his first wife Sulakshna. Raj Mata, too, throws some valid questions at Badi Rani Ma and asks her what Sulakshna was doing until now if she was alive. Badi Rani smartly answers saying that Sulakshna has lost her memory, hence she can’t recall anything and urges Ranaji to gladly accept his beloved first wife. Ranaji, still not convinced by Badi Rani’s claims, ushers Sulakshna inside the palace as she gets fainted.
Meanwhile, Gayatri gets heartbroken and jittery to witness the unfortunate developments. Raj Mata asks Gayatri to face the problem bravely and offers her water. Gayatri refuses to drink water until Ranaji himself offers it to her to break her Karvachauth fast.
Ranaji and Gayatri’s wicked uncle and aunt bear witness to this drama with glee as this has been their ardent wish to separate the royal pair so that they could usurp the Kingdom of Amerkot from Ranaji and Raj Mata.
Raj Mata resolves to find out Sulakshna’s truth so that her hard work to unite Ranaji and Rani Gayatri does not go waste.
