After impressing us with his TV Show Devon Ke Dev Mahadev, Mohit Raina is all geared up for his next show. Titled 21 Sarfarosh: Saragarhi 1897, the show will air on Discovery Jeet and will see Mohit portray the role of Havildar Ishar Singh.
21 Sarfarosh: Saragarhi 1897 is a fiction show inspired by the real-life story of 21 brave soldiers of the 36th Sikh regiment of the British Indian Army who defended an army outpost at Saragarhi in the North-West Frontier Province against an onslaught by over 10,000 Pashtun and Orakzai tribals in September 1897.
Now, the first look of Mohit from the show is out and we have to admit that it is very impressive. With a turban and the army uniform, Mohit steps into the shoes of the late and great Havildar Ishar Singh with grace and class.
In an interview with a leading television portal, Mohit spoke about his character and the show and said, "It is very exciting to be in a period drama like 21 Sarfarosh: Saragarhi 1897. Period dramas have their own challenges. One must work hard to ensure that you don't just embrace the character you are playing, you also have to understand the smaller nuances of the period to deliver an authentic experience. For Ishar Singh, the only thing that mattered was his duty, service. The utmost priority was to serve the nation at any cost and be true to his people. A story of a common man turning into a saviour during difficult times, an extraordinary story of an ordinary person drove me towards it."
Talking about his look for the show, the actor added, "To look the part was the most challenging task, but the research/creative team has done such a wonderful job. Minuscule details were taken care of, hoping the audience like the first look and accept the part."
