Aruna Irani joins Sony TV's Porus; to play an Oracle priestess
Veteran actor Aruna Irani is all set to be a part of Sony TV's historical-drama show Porus. She will be seen playing the role of an Oracle priestess in the show.
Sony TV's historical-drama show Porus has an ensemble cast of Laksh Lalwani, Rohit Purohit, Rati Pandey, Aditya Redij and Suhani Dhanki. Now, there is a new addition to the cast and none other than veteran actor Aruna Irani will be a part of the show.
Aruna Irani will play the character of an Oracle priestess in the upcoming sequences of the show. Oracles in Ancient Greece were usually priests who acted as an inspired medium between men and gods to provide advice and make predictions.
When asked about her stint in Porus, Aruna stated, "I am returning to television after one and a half- two years. Siddharth being a very good and an old friend of mine offered me this cameo role of an Oracle priestess. I swayed away with excitement to the way which he narrated the character to me and immediately agreed to doing it."
She further said, "I will be portraying the character of an Oracle Priestess. In Ancient Greece, Oracles were usually priests who acted as an inspired medium between men and gods to provide advice and make predictions. My character would have a mystic personality with deep wisdom. The ambiguity of the character would also be visible in my appearance and demeanour. My look is also completely different and I am equally excited for this one."
