Pavitra Rishta was the small screen's one of the most loved and popular daily soaps. Ankita Lokhande shot to fame after her debut with this serial. She played the lead role of Archana in the serial.

Last night, Ankita Lokhande was spotted at the Mumbai airport. She was accompanied by her mother. She held on to her mother's hand all the time.

She was dressed in a casual grey top and black palazzos. Her hair was tied back in a high ponytail and she looked beautiful as ever.

She was all smiles when she was snapped by the paparazzi.

On the work front, Ankita is currently shooting for the film Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. She is playing the role of Jhalkari Bai in the film.

Manikarnika is the biopic of the great ruler Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi. The role of Lakshmibai is being played by Kangana Ranaut.

In an interview, Ankita said to Mumbai Mirror that getting an opportunity to work with someone like Kangana means a lot to her. She said, "She’s sweet with me like she is with everyone else on the sets. We’ve practiced together and she has helped me many times and also appreciated my scenes and dancing skills. When you are new and someone like Kangana supports you, it really means a lot.”

She further said, "People only know Jhalkari Bai as a warrior and a replica of Rani Lakshmibai, and that made the role doubly challenging. When I discussed my scenes with Danny sir (Danny Denzongpa), he advised me to do it my way and today I believe she must have been someone like me."

The actor said that she is quite happy with her choice of making a debut in Bollywood with a movie like this, and is open to try typical romantic films in the future.
