Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt is set to offer to the small screen audience a fresh concept through an upcoming serial, Naamkaran. The story revolves around an illegitimate child. The serial is reportedly to roll out in September. The Bhatts will not produce the serial, but will be involved in the making of the show.
The show is said to replace Star Plus cult show, Diya Aur Baati Hum. Naamkaran stars Viraf Patel and Barkha Bisht in the lead roles. If reports are to go by, the show is partially based on his famous 1999 directorial Zakhm. The show launch witnessed Barkha, Mahesh, Anu Malik, Arsheen Namdaar, Kumar Sanu, Anuradha Paudwal, Monali Thakur and Aditi Singh Sharma in attendance.
