Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke’s Shaheer Sheikh opens up on wanting to play a negative role in his next project

Be it the role of a boy next door, of a period character or that of a businessman, Shaheer Sheikh always manages to grab the attention of the viewers with this numero uno acting and to-die-for good looks. Post Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi and Daastan-E-Ishq, shaheer Sheikh’s latest character- Abir Rajvansh from Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke, has been winning hearts with his excellent portrayal of Abir. In the show, Abir has been shown as someone who loves his family and believes in the magic of poetry and loves to paint. As we speak, in the show, he has fallen in love with Mishti aka Rhea Sharma and although Mishti considers Abir to be her best friend, Abir is waiting for the day when Mishti will realise his feelings for her. Currently, Abir and Mishti are trying their best to match up Kunal and Kuhu since Kuhu has admitted her love for Kunal.
During the career span of any actor, he/she wants to play different roles and prove their versatility and Shaheer Sheikh too, has a dream of playing the role of a cop in his future projects. During an interview, 35-year-old Shaheer Sheikh said, “I have been wanting to play a cop. Hopefully, in the future, I will get an opportunity,” said Shaheer adding, “I have not done any negative role till now, so I would love to.” Besides the role of a cop, Shaheer hopes that he gets to play a negative role as he says, “I guess I don't look like a guy who can play a negative character but hopefully in the future, I can (play a negative role). Something about my looks or styling...after that maybe I can,” informed Shaheer.
In the current show, Shaheer Sheikh sports long hair, and talking about his new look, Shaheer said, “For Abir, I remember we were doing a test shoot. I was planning to cut my hair. They took a few shots and liked it. It was looking different on-screen because around that time, there was no other TV actor who had such long hair. They told me to keep it. I said fine.”
