Ekta Kapoor’s much talked about show Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, which recently completed it six years, is all set to pull its curtains down. The family drama starring Karan Patel, Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya, Anita Hassanandani and Aly Goni in the lead has been among the top favourite shows of Indian television. And while the show is going off-air this week, not just the audience but the cast is also bidding adieu to YHM with a heavy heart. Karan Patel, who became a household name with his character of Raman Bhalla, also penned a heartfelt note about the show.

Karan shared a picture of himself with co-star Divyanka aka Ishita and wrote that Yeh Hai Mohabbatein has been special to him in several ways. The television actor stated that YHM made him a better person and gave him a home outside of home and friends who are now my family. Interestingly, in YHM, Karan had played the role of a father and his equation with his onscreen kids was quite loved by the audience. Talking about the same, he wrote, “I have experienced playing a father on screen for 6 years, so when the time comes, I feel I will be ready to accept fatherhood with open arms in real life.”

As they say, all good things come to an end, and so, it’s time to say goodbye to our beloved show Yeh Hai Mohabbatein. For me, it wasn’t just a show, it was a place where I found a home outside of home and friends who are now my family. I found brothers for life in Aly, Abhishek, Sangram and Raj and most importantly my father-in-law. This 6 year-long connection with the show and the people cannot be expressed in words. We started off with a simple yet strong concept and little did we know that it would be so well accepted by the audience. Raman Bhalla became a household name, and so did I. And I am eternally grateful to everyone who made Raman Bhalla aka Raavan Kumar as Ishita (Divyanka) says, a character that I will keep with me forever. This show has made me a better person. I have experienced playing a father on screen for 6 years, so when the time comes, I feel I will be ready to accept fatherhood with open arms in real life. I can’t thank Ekta Kapoor enough for believing in me to portray this role and most importantly, I want to thank the fans of Raman and Ishita who kept loving us unconditionally. Like I have always said, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, Tum Ho Mohabbatein. Lots of Love, Karan Patel / Raman Bhalla

This isn’t all. Karan also thanked television czarina Ekta for showing her confidence in him to portray the role of Raman in the show. And while all things come to an end, it was evident that Karan was quite emotional with the end of Yeh Hai Mohabbatein.

Meanwhile, as every end marks a new beginning, the end of YHM will lead to the beginning of its spin-off show Yeh Hai Chahatein. Starring Sargun Kaur and Abrar Qazi, the show will revolve around a single mother and her journey to find true love. The show will be going on air on December 19 this year.
