Vikram Betaal ki Rahasya Gatha to end tomorrow; Here's how the cast reacted to the overnight decision
The television show Vikram Betaal Ki Rahasya Gatha starring Aham Sharma (Vikram), Makrand Deshpande (Betaal) and Sooraj Thapar (Bhadrakaal) which airs on &TV to end tomorrow.
The popular television show 'Vikram Betaal Ki Rahasya Gatha', which first aired in October last year, will end tomorrow. It is a piece of bad news for all the fans of the serial. Vikram Betaal was doing well in terms of ratings too. However, the cast was informed about the show going off-air only a week ago. This clearly seems like an overnight decision. The mythological show aires on &TV and features Aham Sharma (Vikram), Makrand Deshpande (Betaal) and Sooraj Thapar (Bhadrakaal) in lead roles.
Talking about the sad news, Sooraj Thapar aka Bhadrakaal said, “I am shocked. An artiste joins a show with a lot of hope, and this can be very disappointing. However, there is no guarantee on television nowadays; many shows have wrapped up within a few months. We were hoping that 'Vikram Betaal' would enjoy a longer run, as the feedback was good. We didn’t expect it to go off air before the cricket World Cup commences (on May 30) at least. There were other shows that were behind us in terms of ratings and they could have been pulled off.”
When asked as to what went wrong with Vikram, Ishita Ganguly, who played the role of Rani Padmini on the show, said, “Despite IPL hitting our numbers, the time spent kept going up. Eventually, it was the decision of the channel and the PH (Peninsula Pictures) to shut shop. I enjoyed my bit with the entire cast, including Aaham Sharma, Romanch Mehta, Sooraj Thapar, etc.” She further added, "Although the show was primarily about Vikram and Betaal, I still managed to stand out, for my fans would message me when I was not seen. My work was also appreciated.”
