TV actress Sriti Jha on MeToo movement, says there's no argument about the world being unsafe for women
Television actress Sriti Jha writes her two cents on the #MeToo movement.
The #MeeToo movement is now creating a wave as it has now reached India, after the kind of impact it created in the west. Tanushree Dutta’s allegations of sexual harassment against Nana Patekar led to many similar such stories coming out in the open. Right from Nana Patekar to Vikas Bahl, and even the likes of Alok Nath, Varun Grover and others have been accused of sexual misconduct. While the movement has the industry divided into those who support the alleged and those who don’t, everyone is speaking up.
With everyone putting together their opinions and at the same time providing their two cents on the entire scenario, television actress Sriti Jha too, had some powerful statements to be made. In a series of Instagram posts, the actress mentioned how she knows it isn’t easy to talk about such horrid events because it is like living them all over again. She further also highlighted how consent is necessary and that no one is entitled to anything, irrespective of their gender.

As the #MeToo movement is gaining pace, not only does it become important to speak up against whatever happened, but it is equally important for people to encourage and support those who have come out.
Sriti Jha is currently seen as Pragya in Ekta Kapoor’s Kumkum Bhagya. Sriti is an avid reader and has taken to the stage at various instances to recite the thoughts she pens down into poetry.
With the #MeToo movement gaining momentum, it is necessary to talk, encourage and support.
