TV actor Kritika Chaudhary was murdered, confirms Mumbai police
TV actor Kritika Chaudhary, who was found dead at her residence, was murdered, the Mumbai police confirmed.
Kritika Chaudhary, a 23-year-old model and actor, who was found dead in her apartment in Mumbai, was murdered, confirms the Mumbai police.
A murder case has been registered against an unidentified person by the police. According to a leading news agency, the actress' post-mortem report revealed that she died of a serious head injury.
"Police have received the post-mortem report some time back and after going through it, we have filed an offense of murder," Paramjeet Dahiya, the deputy commissioner of Mumbai Police (Zone-IX) was quoted saying.
"Initially, the Amboli police had registered a case of accidental death in this connection. Now, an offense of murder against an unidentified person has been registered and the probe is on," another officer said.
The police officials are currently interrogating Kritika's family members and friends.
Mumbai police recovered Kritika's body at around 3:45 pm on Monday (June 12), when neighbours complained of foul-smelling emanating from her flat.
Earlier, the police were quoted saying to a daily, "At this stage, one cannot say for certain if the woman was murdered or she committed suicide. However, based on the decomposed nature of the body, it seems she died 2-3 days back."
The police also said that the room was locked from outside and they had to break the door. The police officer added, "We are investigating. The door was locked from outside."
Kritika hailed from Haridwar and was struggling actor in Mumbai. She had a short stint in a few of Balaji's shows namely Parichay in the air 2011. She was also seen in Kangana Ranaut starrer Rajjo.
