Televison producer Mukesh Mishra JAILED for seven years for raping an actress

Television producer Mukesh Mishra, who is associated with shows like Ek Veer Ki Ardaas - Veera, has been convicted of raping an actress and has been jailed for seven years, with a penalty of Rs 5000.

Executive producer Mukesh Mishra was convicted for raping one of the actresses from his own show. The actress, in her statement, revealed about how he offered her lift to the sets, and then followed her to the makeup room, where he then raped her.

The hearing took place at a special women's court on Wednesday, where Mukesh Mishra was sentenced to seven years in jail, along with a penalty of Rs 5000. The producer had committed the crime in the year 2012.

According to the prosecution, the victim was working in the television serial Ek Veer Ki Ardaas - Veera in 2012 and the accused Mukesh Mishra, who was the executive producer of the serial, was aware of the shooting schedules of all the artists.

The victim stated that on December 12, 2012, the producer called the actress and asked her to wait at the Jogeshwari station, where he arrived on his black Pulsar bike and offered to give her a lift till the sets, as both of them had to go to the same place, but on reaching the place, he followed her to the makeup room, where he committed the crime. Mishra had called the actress at Jogeshwari station on the pretext that a bus is arranged to pick up all the artists for the shoot, and it will drop them at their set's location.

According to the reports, the statement of a sweeper was considered, as he saw Mishra entering the victim's makeup room. Also, from the entry in the register, it was proved that both the accused and the victim were present on the sets that day.
