Surbhi Chandna to female actors: Let's be tigerish and not meek
Surbhi Chandna is winning hearts as Anika in Ishqbaaaz. The stunning actor took to Instagram to share a Women's Day wish for all her colleagues and penned an apt tribute to the struggles of being a female actor.
Surbhi Chandna is amongst the leading ladies in Television currently with her badass stint as Anika on the show, Ishqbaaaz. Her chemistry with Nakuul Mehta has been the driving force of the show.
As yesterday marked Women's Day, Surbhi took to Instagram to share a wish to all her work colleagues and penned an apt tribute to female actors noting the struggles that they all have to face.
Surbhi's caption reads as, "This Women’s Day is dedicated to the WOMEN of my Industry - leaving families behind to earn a living, having erratic work schedules , at times work in sphere not favouring you, be in the element 24/7 ,drop off the baggage of emotions as soon as the feet touch the workplace , stay fit , look pretty (and so some are forced to go under the Knife )to avoid hearing criticism since you know ‘JUDGING someone ‘ just comes so naturally to us Humans, constantly have the fear of being disgraced at any given point, the fear what if you raise your voice and stand up for what is right for you, fear of not being respected that one deserves. I want to learn to say a NO and not be diplomatic instead be Fierce Badass and Blunt. I want to gather courage to fight my thoughts that sometimes demotivate me. I want to get Inspired and Inspire. Let's be Tigerish and not Meek. With that thought, let's Celebrate today #HAPPYWOMENsDAY."
A while back, in an interview with a leading television portal, Surbhi got candid about her character in Ishqbaaaz, Anika. Surbhi revealed, "I feel Anika is the biggest example of Nayi Soch because I don't see a character like Anika on Indian Television; someone who stands up for herself and who is as blunt as her. When a girl can actually fight with someone as novel and as grand as Shivaay Singh Oberoi and can fight for her brother or her family, or anybody for that matter."
"I don't think people can gather that kind of courage but they should take inspiration from Anika. She does not wear clothes like a typical bahu, until and unless it is a requirement for the show," Surbhi added.
