Sunil Grover on Bharat’s success: People have always seen me in saree, it was new for them to see me in beard

Ever since the trailer of Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif’s Bharat was dropped online, the buzz around the film was at its peak and post the film’s release, Bharat has been loved by fans. From Salman Khan’s five different looks to Katrina Kaif as Kumud Raina to Disha Patani’s small yet impactful role as a trapeze dancer, everything about Bharat is being talked about but one thing that deserves a special mention is Sunil Grover as Bharat’s aka Salman’s friend in the film.
As much as audiences have loved Bharat, they have showered praises on the character of Sunil Grover because for the longest time, this comedian was seen essaying the role of a woman- Gutthi, in The Kapil Sharma Show and to let go of that image and come out as Sunil Grover- the actor must have been challenging but after the success of the film, a happy Sunil Grover said that he is very happy to have shared screen space with Salman Khan and to have played the role of Vilayati. While speaking to ANI, Sunil Grover said, “I am happy that I got a chance to share screen space with Salman Khan. I have been his fan so I am really happy. As far as the comments of the audience are concerned, I got nice comments. Actually, people have always seen me in saree so it was new for them to see me in the beard. It was refreshing for me too.”
Talking about the film, Bharat bagged good number in the opening week with a collection of Rs 167.60 crores but the movie has since then gone slow at the box office and struggling to inch past Rs 200 crores.
