One of India's phenomenal actors Sridevi's death has shaken the entire nation. Fans, celebrities and even politicians are in saddened and shocked by her death. The Hawa Hawaii girl ruled hearts for more than two decades and her death is a huge loss to the Indian film industry.

Sridevi died of a cardiac arrest on Saturday night in Dubai. Since then, prayers have been pouring for her.

Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Smriti Irani, penned an emotional letter remembering Sridevi. As reported by a leading portal, in her letter, Smriti called the legendary actor an tough woman who faced every challenge that came her way and called her a woman who lived with dignity.

Smriti Irani wrote, "I pay homage to an actor who through her body of work ascertained that a female actress place in a commercial Hindi movie is not only to compliment her male counterparts."

She further added, "My memories of Sridevi are built through my journey from being a fan girl to an actor and then my role as a politician... She was a woman who knew her mind and despite the challenges that came her way, she approached life with a lot of dignity."

Smriti wrote that her drop-dead gorgeous looks and charisma helped her to draw the audiences to cinema halls and that her male co-stars depended on her magic for their box-office success. "That her male co-stars had to depend on her magic for their box office success was an ode to her calibre," added Smriti.

Smriti wrote that not only her dance even her comic timing is worth a study and called her a versatile actor. "It was not just her dance moves that dazzled many, her comic timing is worth a study. The versatility with which she could oscillate between making her audience cry and laugh spoke volumes of her strength as an actor," mentioned Smriti in her letter.
