And the 77 years-old battle comes to an end with the Supreme Court’s decision to decriminalize Section 377. Twitter is flooded with applauds for the SC’s decision and amongst them are several TV celebs including Nakuul Mehta, Vikas Gupta, Kritika Kamra, Vivek Dahiya and others.

Restoring hope of people in the Indian judiciary system, the Supreme Court of India today pronounced the historic verdict which decriminalizes Section 377. Under Section 377, sexual intercourse that is penile and non-vaginal is considered a crime. In today's hearing, the Supreme Court shared that homosexuality is no longer a crime in India. The Bench was led by Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra and comprises Justices Rohinton F. Nariman, A.M. Khanwilkar, D.Y. Chandrachud and Indu Malhotra.ANI tweeted today, "Five-judge Supreme Court bench by unanimous decision decriminalises #Section377".

After the decision came out, along with the LGBTQ community, the entire country has come together to witness this victory. People took to their social media pages to express joy and happiness. From amongst them are a huge majority of our television celebrities, who expressed their happiness on the judgement. Nakuul Mehta, Vikas Gupta, Krystle D'souza, Keith Sequeira and Payal Rohatgi among others thanked the SC for this beautiful decision and finally giving the LGBTQ community their rights.

Among Bollywood fraternity, Karan Johar was the first to applaud SC's decision as soon the news came out. The director tweeted, "Historical judgment!!!! So proud today! Decriminalising homosexuality and abolishing #Section377 is a huge thumbs up for humanity and equal rights! The country gets its oxygen back!".
