The actor took to Instagram to announce it and shared adorable pictures of her son. Motherhood is a beautiful feeling and every mother cherishes it, but it comes with its own set of challenges. In an interview with Times of India, Saumya said that she wants to advocate breastfeeding.

She said, “Yes I am still getting used to because I am a breast-feeding mother and I want to advocate breastfeeding. I know it's tough to be active every two hours and breastfeed your baby, though I have help at home thankfully. I am reading a lot of books because the idea is to make the baby have a sleep pattern so that everyone finds sanity around. Just trying to learn everything.” She also opened up on postpartum depression. She said that she does feel irritated and depressed at times. She said that nothing about motherhood and parenting is easy and you need a lot of support from your family. She added she feels bad for women who don’t stay with their in-laws who support them.

Recently, the actress took to Instagram and asked her followers to suggest names for her newborn son. While sharing the first picture of her son, Saumya wrote: "My little munchkin needs a name. We have not been able to decide. Common let your suggestions pour. Need your help. If I choose your name, My little prince will send you a gift. Hint hint: name should be unique, small and should have a great meaning."

Saumya tied the knot with Saurabh in December 2016. She had met her husband in college and dated him for many years before getting married to him in a private ceremony.
