Shashi Kapoor, 79, who was also considered as one of the most handsome actors of his times, passed away on Monday in Mumbai. A lot of Bollywood celebrities and well-known personalities attended his funeral and paid their respect and condolences to his family. Amongst the many stars, present were also brother duo Rohit Roy and Ronit Roy who attended the funeral and paid respect to Late Shashi Kapoor


Born in the Kapoor Khandaan, Mr Shashi Kapoor was the younger brother of Raj Kapoor and Shammi Kapoor and was part of over 116 movies including multi-starrers and special appearances. The actor was ill for the longest time and is now survived by three kids Karan Kapoor, Kunal Kapoor and Sanjana Kapoor. Among others, he is well known for his performances in popular movies Deewar, Namak Halal, Satyam Shivam Sundaram, Kaala Patthar, Dharma Putra, Awaara and Kabhie Kabhie.
Well, before being known as THE SHASHI KAPOOR, the actor used to act in plays directed by his father Prithviraj Kapoor. He made his first appearance as a child artist in films in the late 1940s. His best performances as a child actor were in 1948's Aag and 1951's Awaara.
Shashi Kapoor was conferred with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2015. He was also awarded the coveted Padma Bhushan in 2011. Not just that, he was also conferred with National Film Awards in 1979, 1986 and 1994. He was also awarded the Filmfare Award for Lifetime Achievement in 2010.
