Rajeev Khandelwal's mother passes away after a year and a half battle with cancer

Rajeev Khandelwal took to Twitter today to share some heartbreaking news regarding his family. The actor's mother sadly passed away on May 16, 2018. His mother was battling cancer for a year and a half but sadly passed away. 

Rajeev took to Twitter to reveal the sad news and remembered the fondness he had for his mother and how she will always be with him.

My mom passed away day before yesterday after a year n a half long fight with cancer. We fought together, we hoped together but we couldn’t come out of it together. I and my family are fine and have come to terms wth it. She now lives within me.

Rajeev also thanked those who were there with him and his family during the turbulent times.

Our condolences are with Rajeev and his family.

Rajeev has also changed his Twitter display pic to that of his late mom and his bio reads as, "Mama's boy."

Earlier, on the occasion of Mother's Day, Rajeev had tweeted an ode to his beloved mother.
