Rajeev Khandelwal: When I left television, I was only being offered commercial stuff
Rajeev Khandelwal is known to star in offbeat movies like Aamir and Table No 21, but the actor recently revealed that initially he was offered many commercial movies.
Rajeev Khandelwal became a household name as Sujal Garewal in Kahiin Toh Hoga. After that, Rajeev ventured into the world of movies but chose to be a part of unconventional movies like Aamir and Table No 21.
Talking about his choice of movies with a leading daily, Aamir revealed, "When I left television, I was only being offered commercial stuff, because my image was of that a romantic hero. But I didn’t take up those projects as they were not exciting."
The actor continued, "So when Aamir came my way, I immediately decided to do it. Aamir helped me understand that you cannot be limited in your thinking. Films are not just about singing, dancing, and cracking jokes. I do not mean it in a derogatory way, but all I am saying is that it is not the only way to tell a story."
"That is why I think I went on that path; most of my films are different. That will happen in the future also. Some may be appreciated and some may not receive the response you expect. But I have no regrets and I am very happy with my choices. I did not let my mind go corrupt at any point," Rajeev concluded.
Rajeev can currently be seen in Haq Se which also stars Surveen Chawla. About his character in Haq Se, Rajeev said to Pinkvilla, "I think very simple romantic characters suit me. So this is a little complicated character. There are layers to him. He is idiosyncratic at times. Maybe there’s a conflict in his heart and mind."
