Pehredaar Piya Ki: Not Shantanu Maheshwari, Rohit Suchanti to romance Tejaswi Prakash in the sequel?
Saath Nibhana Saathiya fame Rohit Suchanti has reportedly been roped in to play the male lead in Pehredaar Piya Ki sequel.
Sony Tv’s Pehredaar Piya Ki had led to a huge furore on social media after the show’s regressive plot received thumbs down from the audience. The campaign was such that the I&B Ministry had to intervene and the channel was asked to change the time slot of the show.
However, in a surprising move, the makers decided to pull the plug on the show overnight with a promise to be back with a sequel. Well, seems like they weren’t kidding.
Shashi Sumeet Productions’ is all set to make a comeback with Pehredaar Piya Ki sequel. However, this time the story will continue with it taking a leap of 12-13 years. The lead character, Ratan, will be seen returning back to the country post completing his studies abroad.
Earlier it was reported that Shantanu Maheshwari, who is being seen in Khatron Ke Khiladi, was roped in to play the role of grown-up Ratan. However, a source tells us that it is Saath Nibhana Saathiya fame Rohit Suchanti who has been finalised to play the male lead opposite Tejaswi Prakash.
Well, it will be interesting to see how the show rolls out, given that the earlier season was full of controversies.
Meanwhile, the makers launched Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat amidst much grandeur. The show takes us back to the '90s era and is currently enjoying a good fan base.
