Singer Angarag Papon Mahanta, popularly known as Papon, recently posted a video on his Facebook page where he celebrated Holi with the contestants of Voice of India Kids. The singer judges the show which airs on &TV.

A complaint has been filed against Papon for allegedly kissing a minor female contestant forcibly. In the video, he is seen applying gulal on the girl and then kissing her. After watching the video, a lawyer named Runa Bhayan spoke about it to an online portal stating, "I am shocked to see the behaviour of the said singer Angarag Papon Mahanta towards a minor girl where he is seen to be applying colours on a minor girl and inappropriately kissing the said girl. On seeing the video, I am seriously concerned regarding the safety and security of minor girls participating in reality shows across India."

A media agency tweeted the photos of the complaint by Runa and said, "#Delhi: Supreme Court advocate Runa Bhuyan files a complaint against singer Papon for 'inappropriately kissing a minor girl' who is a contestant on a reality TV show."

While, Papon's manager spoke about the incident to a local Guwahati media saying, "The act was not meant to hurt the sentiments of any individual, and that it was not wrong in any manner, which is why they see no reason to pull down the video from the official Facebook page of Papon."

The girl contestant's father however issued a statement where he requested media channels to not 'drag the issue".
