Not Shaheer Sheikh, Iss Pyar Ko Kya Naam Doon fame Barun Sobti to play Anurag in Kasautii Zindagii Kay remake?
Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon 3 fame Barun Sobti has been approached to play the role of Anurag Basu in the remake of Kasautii Zindagii Kay. The show will see Erica Fernandes play the role of Prerna Bajaj in the show.
Kasautii Zindagii Kay featuring Shweta Tiwari, Cezzane Khan and Ronit Roy is all set for a reboot. The Ekta Kapoor produced show will see Erica Fernandes of Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi fame stepping into the shows of Prerna Bajaj. The speculations around who will play the iconic role of Anurag Basu is going on for the longest time.
Earlier names of Shaheer Sheikh, Mohit Raina, Angad Bedi came to the light but Mohit and Angad refuted the rumours on record while Shaheer is rumoured to be a part of TV remake of Mughal-E-Azam which will be aired on Sony TV. Now, according to sources, Barun Sobti, who was last seen in Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon 3, is one of the contenders for the role. Sources confirm that he is largely being considered and if things go well, he might be paired alongside Erica in the show.
When we contacted Barun, he dodged the question! We are awaiting his response on the same.
Name of Ssharad Malhotra of Kasam Tere Pyar Ki fame has also been doing the rounds. It will be interesting to see who finally is signed as the male lead opposite Erica. In the meantime, Ekta took to Twitter to refuse rumours surrounding who will play the main antagonist, Kamolika, in the remake. Ekta said that she has only approached one person and hopefully they will be able to lock her for the role. Kamolika was played by Urvashi Dholakia.
