Neena Gupta to return to Television with her cult show 'Saans'
Neena Gupta is keen on making her kick ass come back soon.
Neena Gupta has been one of the top actresses of her time, with a National award in her kit. She took a break from acting long time back but is now all set to return to Television. An extremely popular show, 'Saans' in the 90's was written, directed, and produced by her. Neena, Kawaljit Singh, and Kavita Kapoor played the main leads of the show. Neena is ready to bring back the cult show on Television.
In an interview with a leading daily, Neena confirmed,"Talks are on, but I am not at liberty to divulge more. All I can say is that the story will revolve around three generations of women. I will try to retain as many actors from the original cast as possible, provided they fit in our budget. Kanwaljit will definitely be a part of the show."
On being asked if she will follow the norms of Television and her views on serial makers who are accused of making regressive TV shows today to which she replied, "I have never followed suit and will not do that even now. I will do what I feel like. Also, TV today is a reflection of our society. Where has our society progressed? It's still the same. I have seen young brides being ill-treated by their mothers-in-law. When I asked a girl why she was not retaliating against her mother-in-law's unreasonable behaviour, her reply was, 'It's supposed to be like that'. Why wouldn't such shows work then?"
It's always good to have great talent and entertainment back and we hope the project is executed soon.
