Nakuul Mehta and Surbhi Chandna literally were the soul and heart of the show Ishqbaaaz, who continues to remain one of the most loved ones. Post the generation leap, while Nakuul was retained to play Shivaay and Annika's son Shivaansh Singh Oberoi, he got a new female lead in the form of Manjiri. The actress has been at the receiving end of a lot of flak for her portrayal as Aditi Deshmukh but she remains unaffected. In fact, in an interview with India Forums, she said that she understands the outrage and herself thinks Nakuul and Surbhi looked like a 'made for each other' pair on screen.
She said, "I have taken it as a new show and I feel the fans who are missing her are totally right because she's like the first love for them, and it's hard to forget your first love. So, I truly understand their love for her and it doesn't offend me at all. In fact, I have seen a lot of episodes of Ishqbaaaz and I absolutely loved their chemistry, it's like they're made for each other and I have a lot of respect for the amount of entertainment and magic they have catered to the audience."
Replying on working with Nakuul, Manjiri added, "Nakuul is such a fabulous co-actor, and I think he's the best one I've met till now. He's very cooperative and supportive and I feel completely taken care of while shooting."
According to a reliable source, Nakuul will soon get a second female lead as well, hunt for which is ongoing.
