Naagin 3 Review: Karishma-Anita as Naagins are convincing BUT it is Surbhi as Bella which leaves you intrigued
Naagin 3 will leave you intrigued. Karishma Tanna and Anita Hassanandini fit the bill perfectly. Surbhi Jyoti as Bella is intriguing. While all this works for the show, the odd repetitiveness of supernatural elements is disappointing.
The Naagins are back to spice up your weekends with their supernatural abilities. The show revolves around the revenge-seeking Naagins who plot and plan to hiss the persons behind her lover's death. While the first two seasons had Mouni Roy and Adaa Khan, the third season has Karishma Tanna and Anita Hassanandini as the shape-shifting snakes with Surbhi Jyoti playing the small town girl Bella.
Naagin 3 starts with Shivangi aka Mouni Roy breathing her last after feeling betrayed by her father and husband. She vows revenge, thereby, giving us a hint that she might return (Season 4-5, maybe?). Later the focus shifts to the house of business tycoon Andy Sehgal (Chetan Hansraj) who has two sons, Yuvi and Pratham. Yuvi being the spoilt brat that he gets into an altercation with two Ichaaridari Naags, Roohi (Tanna) and Vikrant (Rajat Tokas), who were to get married after 100 years. Yuvi and his group of friends harass Roohi and later end up killing Vikrant making Roohi furious who vows to seek revenge.
Fast forward to six months later, Yuvi is all set to get hitched to the 'sanskari' Bella (Surbhi) who is getting married as a part to repay her father's debt. Also, enters the sultry Vish Khanna (Anita) who lures Yuvi and his friend to the forest area and ends up killing his friends while Yuvi escapes. By the end of the first week, Bella and Yuvi are engaged.
However, the mystery around how will Roohi seek her revenge and what role does Surbhi play in it is a mystery, which works for the show. However, the cliche background score and familiar locations just look oddly repetitive.
Karishma Tanna fits the bill perfectly and her chemistry with Rajat Tokas, her lover Naag was definitely the highlight. Anita as the Vish Khanna is definitely someone to watch out for and Surbhi as the innocent Bella is the perfect muse.
All in all, the supernatural show is sure to keep you hooked as we continue to wonder if Surbhi is a Naagin or Now? If not, how does she add up to th story? Hmmm.. *thinking caps on*
