Mouni Roy, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Aashka Goradia join Akshay Kumar's Padman challenge

After Bollywood actors like Varun Dhawan, Arjun Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone among others joining the PadMan challenge kickstarted by Akshay Kumar, it is television industry which is taking it further. 

Gold actor Mouni Roy is the first TV star to join the promotional challenge. Sharing a picture with the pad, Mouni wrote, "Yes, that's a pad in my hand & that's not something to be ashamed of. It's natural. Thank you for the challenge. @akshaykumar sir. All my bestest wishes @twinklerkhanna ma'am @sonamkapoor @radhikaofficial."

She also tagged her close friends Aashka Goradia and Sanjeeda Sheikh for the challenge. Taking up the challenge, Aashka posted a video of herself with husband Brent Goble wherein they are together seen shattering the stereotype related to pads. 

Later, Sanjeeda too shared a small video of herself with the pad making sure to join the movement.

Akshay Kumar's role in Padman is inspired by Arunachalam Muruganantham who was the inventor of a low-cost sanitary pad making machine. Padman also stars Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in the film which is directed by R Balki.

"I always wanted to work and make such films but I was not a producer during that time. I didn't have enough money, but now I can. My wife told me about Arunachalam Muruganantham and then we met R Balki. So we thought about making this movie," Akshay told a news agency. 

Padman releases on February 9, 2018.
