Talk about one iconic show on Indian Television which still dwells on the minds of people and was an epitome of the saas bahu saga and we have Kyunki Saans Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. The show that ran for good eight long years went on to become the longest-running show on Indian TV of that decade. Tulsi-Mihir became a part of every Indian family while Mandira went on to become the country's most disliked lady and home wrecker (in reel life).
The show that kick-started in 2000's, completes 17 years today. The creator of KSBKBT, Ekta Kapoor who gave birth to the iconic show, took to Instagram to share the memory. She wrote, "17Years ago a man called @sameern n channel called @starplus gave a young producer a chance .... my life change n india got d biggest show in tv history !wat impact d show had on indian families still overwhelms me n I only have gratitude that I got a chance to b a part of this journey! Also wat we all woke up to was d first female character that made such a high world wide impact !!!!it gave birth to d phenomenon TULSI! Thankuuu all n JAI SHREE KRISHNA ...#17yearsofkyunki."
She shared a picture of Smriti Irani and her husband Zubin Irani posing with Shobhaa Kapoor. Her caption made us even more nostalgic. This show made Ekta Kapoor, the queen of Indian Television in no time and made Smriti Irani and Ronit Roy/ Amar Upadhyay a household name. Well, it also made the characters of Baa, Tusi, Mihir, Mandira, Payal, Ansh, Karan, Nandini immortal in our hearts forever. 90's kids will surely agree when we say, how every household was stuck to TV screens from 10.00pm-11pm on Star Plus from Monday-Thursday just to religiously watch Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki, irrespective of what's happening in one's life. This was the time when viewers got agitated on seeing Mihir betray Tulsi for Mandira. Out of the reel world now, while Ekta has sustained her reputation of being the queen of Indian TV and has ventured into the web world with her classy and sassy content, Tulsi who once ruled the Telly Ville, has gone a long way of ruling the Textile Industry of the country as a Minister.
