Kushal Tandon reacted to his co-star Piyush Sahdev being arrested for rape.
TV actor Piyush Sahdev was arrested on Wednesday after an actress filed an FIR at the Versova Police Station and accused him of rape. He was last seen in Beyhadh.
Kiran Vasantrao Kale, senior inspector, Versova police station confirmed the news to a leading daily and said, "Yes, he has been charged with rape. An FIR was lodged against him on November 20. After investigations, we arrested him on November 22. He was produced in court on the same day and has been sent to police custody until November 27."
When a leading daily quizzed Piyush's Beyhadh co-star Kushal Tandon, he stated, "This is a matter of somebody’s life. His career, reputation, family… everything is at stake. I feel this matter needs to be investigated thoroughly. There are so many laws now made for the protection of women and rightly so, but they should not be misused. From what I hear, Piyush was living in with this woman for the last two months. This is not some random person he suddenly met. Nobody knows what transpired between the two. All I can say is that in any such case, we should wait for the police to investigate and the courts to decide, rather than jumping to conclusions about a person’s character."
Piyush's sister Meher Vij, when contacted by the daily, was first shocked to listen to the news and also revealed that she hasn't been in touch with her brother ever since he got married. "I have got to know this from you. When did this happen? I don't know anything at all," said Meher.
