Kritika Kamra has a sassy take on feminists bashing Jennifer Lawrence's Versace dress
Jennifer Lawrence was recently criticised for her Versace outfit at the photo call for her movie Red Sparrow in London. Kritika Kamra questioned the ethics of feminists who bashed the Oscar winner.
Feminism is on the rise with many women coming together to fight for equality. However, there are some who misuse the term feminism and in the process try to put other women down.
Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence was the latest victim who got bashed for her outfit attire at the photo call for her movie Red Sparrow in London. Dressed in a black Versace dress, many targeted her outfit choice given how it was winter in London.
Jennifer, who gives it back to haters in the best way possible reacted to the backlash with a Facebook post. Jennifer stated, "Wow. I don't really know where to get started on this "Jennifer Lawrence wearing a revealing dress in the cold" controversy. This is not only utterly ridiculous, I am extremely offended. That Versace dress was fabulous, you think I'm going to cover that gorgeous dress up with a coat and a scarf? I was outside for 5 minutes. I would have stood in the snow for that dress because I love fashion and that was my choice. This is sexist, this is ridiculous, this is not feminism. Overreacting about everything someone says or does, creating controversy over silly innocuous things such as what I choose to wear or not wear, is not moving us forward. It's creating silly distractions from real issues. Get a grip, people. Everything you see me wear is my choice. And if I want to be cold THAT'S MY CHOICE TOO!"
Many women provided their support to Jennifer which included Television actor Kritika Kamra who gave a sassy reply to the feminists bashing Lawrence, through Twitter.
Kritika tweeted, "So turns out, if you’re a feminist you gotta follow some rules. And guess what are the rules are.. your clothes need to be approved by fellow feminists. You’re fighting for women’s right to choose but dare you to choose your own dress. #JenniferLawrence"
