Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2: Sumona Chakravarti to play Anurag Basu's sister Nivedita Basu opposite Erica & Parth
Sumona Chakravarti who was last seen in Kapil Sharma's show will now reportedly be a part of Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2 with Erica Fernandes and Parth Saamthaan as the lead.
It is safe to say that Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2 is one of the most anticipated shows this year. The original show which aired in 2001 featured Shweta Tiwari and Cezzane Khan as Prerna and Anurag Basu respectively. For the remake, Erica Fernandes and Parth Saamthaan will be seen stepping into the shoes of the iconic characters.
Hina Khan, who was last seen in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, will be seen playing the role of Komolika, which was earlier played by Urvashi Dholakia. Now, according to fresh reports, Sumona Chakravarti, who shot to fame with the show Kapil Sharma's show has been approached to play Anurag Basu's sister Nivedita Basu in the show. Sumona confirmed to DNA that she has been approached but nothing has been finalized as yet. Nivedita's role was earlier played by Poonam Narula.
According to reports, Barun Sobti was apparently roped in for the role of Mr. Bajaj, but, the actor denied the reports when we contacted him.
The first teaser for the show was unveiled last week and Erica's first look as Prerna got everyone talking. In an interview with Pinkvilla, Erica said that this remake will be a Kasautii of 2018 and that her aim will be to make the character relatable.
Erica added that she was very happy when she was told that she will be playing Prerna. When asked if not Prerna, what role would she have loved to reprise from the original, Erica said, "None, only Prerna!"
Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2 will soon air on Star Plus.
