Many Television celebrities are coming out in defense of Salman Khan over the 1998 Blackbuck Poaching Case Verdict. Salman has been convicted and sentenced to a 5-year jail term with a fine of Rs 10,000 while Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre and Neelam have been acquited.

Amongst the Telly Ville celebs was Karan Patel who took to Twitter to show his undying support for Salman.

@BeingSalmanKhan is a #Tiger and #Bhai will see this through with equal #Grace and #Strength. BUT ... the #Law has been #Unfair towards #SalmanKhan ..... #SalmanDoesNotDeserveThis ... https://t.co/FsHghYGizs

Karan retweeted a tweet by an IPS officer who tweeted, "@BeingSalmanKhan is a #Tiger and #Bhai will see this through with equal #Grace and #Strength. BUT ... the #Law has been #Unfair towards #SalmanKhan ..... #SalmanDoesNotDeserveThis..."

Karan then wrote, "If Salman Khan can be sentenced to 5 years imprisonment for killing a solitary deer, what should be the fair punishment for corporates, bureaucrats and politicians who connive to displace tribals and wilfully destroy pristine forests, rivers and entire habitats for their greed?"

On recent developments regarding the case, a leading news agency tweeted, "Jodhpur Court reserves order till tomorrow on #SalmanKhan's bail plea #BlackBuckPoachingCase."

For the uninitiated, Salman and the others were accused of hunting and killing two blackbucks in 1998 in Rajasthan's Kankani while the actors were the state for a film shoot. Blackbucks are endangered species and hunting them is prohibited under the Wildlife Protection Act.

In a throwback video of Salman, he is seen talking about how the controversy started. "One day after pack up, we were going back. There was Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Neelam and Sonali. We saw deer fawn, stuck in a bush. The whole herd was there and I stopped the car. He (fawn) was petrified. I took him out of there, gave him some water. The whole pack was there. He ate a few biscuits and then went away. I think from there, the whole controversy came," Salman said.
