It is reported that Karan Mehra, who played the role of Naitik in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, will be returning to the show after a gap of two years. Here's what he has to say.
Remember Karan Mehra - the man, with the chocolaty looks, who portrayed the role of Naitik in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai? He had become a household name with the show and enjoyed a massive fan following. However, after being associated with the show since its inception in 2009, Karan walked out of the show. It was reported that the actor took the big decision owing to his health conditions. While he was replaced by Vishal Singh, fans have been yearning to have him back on the show.
So, when Karan was spotted with YRKKH producer Rajan Shahi at an award function, the reports of his return to the popular daily soap got rife. It was reported that the producer-actor duo, who still shares a good bond, bumped into each other at the function and shared a hug. While this led to speculations about Karan’s return to the show, the actor clarified that it isn’t happening as of now. In fact, he also stated that he hasn’t been approached to get back on Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.
Talking about his coincidental meeting with Rajan Shahi, Karan emphasised that the two have been in touch even after his exit from the show. However, he also stated that the two didn’t meet at the award function. “Well, we are in touch and exchange messages, but I couldn’t meet Rajan Sir that day. It is strange how such news is formulated,” Karan told Telly Chakkar.

To recall, post his exit from Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Karan had participated in Bigg Boss 10 and won a lot of praises for his conduct in the house. Later, he was also seen in SAB TV’s Khatmal-E-Ishq and Kitchen Champion 5. He was last seen in Star Plus’ Ek Bhram… Sarvagun Sampanna this year.
Meanwhile, YRKKH also saw a change in its lead cast and storyline. The story which started with Naitik and Akshara (played by Hina Khan), now revolves around it next generation with Mohsin Khan and Shivangi Joshi playing the lead.
