The Kapil Sharma Show: Archana Puran Singh replaces Navjot Singh Sidhu after Pulwama remarks; watch video

Ace comedian Kapil Sharma's show has run into troubled waters on more than one occasion. The recent controversy comes in the wake of the horrific Pulwama terror attack. Navjot Singh Sidhu, a politician and celebrity judge on The Kapil Sharma Show, was condemned for his statement when he said, " "For a 'handful of people', can you blame the entire nation and can you blame an individual? It (the attack) is a cowardly act and I condemn it firmly. Violence is always condemnable and those who did it must be punished."  

Acting promptly, Sony TV sacked Sidhu and have replaced him with Archana Puran Singh. The channel confirmed the same today as they shared a video clip on their Twitter handle introducing Archana as the celebrity judge on the comedy show. The channel's prompt measures to sack Sidhu came after netizens threatened to boycott the show after Sidhu's comments on the Pulwama terror attack were considered to be distasteful and in poor light. 

Archana exclusively told Pinkvilla yesterday, "I shot 2 episodes with Kapil as a guest judge on the 9th and 13th of February." Regarding Sidhu's sacking, a source earlier informed Pinkvilla that the channel has informed the production about their decision to let go of Sidhu following the comments. The channel is now mulling over the remaining episodes that they have already shot with the former cricketer. 

On Twitter, a trend to boycott Kapil Sharma's comedy show began soon after Sidhu's comments regarding the attack surfaced on social media.
