Kapil Sharma is currently busy promoting his upcoming movie, Firangi. The movie is slated to hit the theatres this Friday. Talking about the movie, Kapil told a leading daily, “Firangi is set before Partition. Even my grandfather was born in Pakistan. Because Partition coloured our worldview for a long time, we couldn’t see beyond it. With Firangi, we decided to make a light-hearted story based in that era.’’
When asked about his real-life story, he dodged the question with a joke and said, “It doesn’t happen in real life. Have you seen a rich girl falling in love with a taxi driver in real life? Nobody ever loved me. I am a workaholic guy and I get scared by the idea of marriage.”
Recently rumors of Kapil Sharma and Ginni's marriage had started doing the rounds. A source revealed to a leading daily, "There is a lot of pressure from the two families. Ginni’s parents are keen that the couple makes their relationship official. Kapil’s mother also wants him to marry Ginni, whom she has grown fond of. Ginni had promised to consider marriage only after Kapil cleaned up his act. Now, that the stand-up comedian is completely off alcohol and in a much more relaxed frame of mind, he too seems to be in the mood to take the plunge."
Earlier, when Kapil was asked by a leading daily about his wedding plans, the comedian had said, "Yes, I am getting married to Ginni and she is the love of my life. I have known her for 10 years since my college days in Jalandhar. I used to go to her college to do stand-up comedy. I fell in love with her first, then my mother fell in love with her and that's when I felt I should make it official. She not only completes me but is my better half."
When asked if he is getting back with Sunil Grover anytime soon? He replied,“I enjoy working with him.” But will he get Sunil to act alongside him in a film as well, “I haven’t adopted him (laughs).”
Recently, Kapil had wished Sunil on his birthday on Twitter and the latter reciprocated the gesture. Reacting to this, Kapil had earlier said, “Main tohhumesha phone kar leta hoon jab bhi mera mann karta hai. koi aise baat nahi hai ki baat cheet band hai.. (I give him a call whenever I feel like, there is no such thing that we are not on talking terms).”
When asked about his Hollywood debut, Kapil answered, “It’s only half truth. I have talked with some people on phone, but nothing concrete yet.”
Firangi also stars Ishita Dutta, Monica Gill, Edward Sonnenblick, Kumud Mishra, Rajesh Sharma, Inaamulhaq, Aanjjan Srivastav, Jameel Khan and Vishal O Sharma in vital roles.
