Hiten Tejwani on working in Kalank: It is a step up for me, career wise
Hiten Tejwani will have a pivotal role in Abhishek Varman's Kalank. The film stars Varun Dhawa, Alia Bhatt, Madhuri Dixit and others.
Hiten Tejwani has acted in a number of television shows. It is because of his amazing performances and varied roles that he took up in his career which made the actor immensely popular among the Indian audiences. Even after so many years, the audiences still remember him as Pratham from the show Kutumb (2000). The actor was last seen in the reality show Bigg Boss 11 where he was one of the strong contestants.
After coming out of Bigg Boss house last year, Hiten Tejwani was flooded with a lot of opportunities. The actor is a part of Abhishek Varman's period drama Kalank which stars Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles. The film is being produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions.
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Hiten was asked about being a part of this star-studded film. He said that he is happy and enjoyed working with Varun, Alia and other actors. The Pavitra Rishta actor added that they knew him because of his TV shows and it was lovely to interact with them.
When asked if he would do big budget films which have small roles or small budget films where he has to play the lead role, Hiten answered, "Though I did movies earlier, Karan’s film is different. It is a step up for me, career-wise. It will have a wider reach than the movies I did. As for your question, I would like to balance both kinds of films. There are many young and new directors, who have fabulous concepts and story ideas, and this is why I do their films. And the bottom line is, when I was a newcomer, someone gave me a chance too. So in a way, I am paying it forward."
Kalank will hit the screens on April 19, 2019.
