Here’s WHY BIGG BOSS 11 contestants Hina Khan, Arshi Khan, Sabyasachi Satpathy and Benafsha Soonawalla don't like SALMAN KHAN!
Bigg Boss Ka Buzz hostess Priya Malik spills the beans on what goes on inside the Bigg Boss 11 house.
We have heard Bigg Boss 11 contestants share opinions on each other. Now we have come to know what the opinions are of some of them about their star host Salman Khan. Former Bigg Boss contestant, actress, and columnist Priya Malik is hosting a section called Bigg Boss Ka Buzz every Monday on Voot. She will reveal the sentiments of the house post Dhinchak Pooja entering the house, including the heated exchange between Shilpa Shinde and Dhinchak Pooja. She will also share the sentiments of the eliminated contestants of Bigg Boss 11 and give her take on who is likely to be eliminated in the coming week.
Before Bigg Boss Ka Buzz, Priya Malik exclusively shares with Pinkvilla her take on what the Bigg Boss 11 contestants feel about their handsome host megastar Salman Khan...
Do the contestants agree with Salman Khan's advice? "The overall vibe in the house is that everyone latches on to whatever Salman says and people agree with him, but I think some people take it with a pinch of salt, which is very clear even when you watch the normal daily episodes that are telecast on television. There are little things, nuances, perceptions and how the contestants react post the Salman Khan episodes which tell you what people really feel. I think that’s exactly what I have noticed in the house. The biggest revelation was when they all had to put themselves in the Top 10 categories based on popularity and Salman came on the episode and changed things around. You could literally tell how they felt and they weren't very happy thoughts."
Salman and Hina Khan recently exchanged a few strong words and Priya says, "I must mention the spat that Hina Khan had with Salman sir. He was being really honest about how she was coming across and where she is going wrong… You could clearly tell that Hina did not want to hear what Salman had to say and I think it would have been in her favour if she did, because Salman was actually trying to show her a mirror – this is how you are coming across on television – you take it or leave it, that’s your choice. But I think the best part of Salman as a host is that he tells you what he thinks and what the perception outside is, but he doesn’t force his opinion on you and that’s what he did with Hina. But I think she did not want to hear what he had to say - in Hina's case she does not want to hear what anyone else has to say! That was Hina being Hina…"
Apart from Hina Khan, three other people Priya Malik has observed are unhappy with Salman. "Arshi Khan also does not like what Salman has to say to her. It’s very similar to Hina but Arshi’s reaction to Salman is a bit passive-aggressive. For instance, if he says, ‘Arshi you should not be over-reacting,’ she will say, ‘Achcha Salmanji, ab se main na bilkul react nahi karoongi… Chahe mujhe koi bhi kuch bhi kahe na mein kuch bhi nahi boloongi.’ That’s also a wrong reaction to give because someone is telling you honestly how you are coming across and you are completely shutting him down with passive-aggression. Sabyasachi Satpathy and Benafsha Soonawalla were really surprised that Salman doesn’t think they are entertaining. There was a little bit of unwillingness and resentment that I could see in them."
But Salman Khan has found himself a lifelong fan in contestant Vikas Gupta. Priya says, "Vikas was very pleased about what Salman had to say about him about being among the Top 10 contestants. He’s been very favourable about whatever Salman had to say from there on because Vikas thinks Salman likes him and finds him an entertaining contestant and that does give you a lot of weightage on the show. I remember during my season I felt that too when everyone would complain about me and Salman would just come on the weekend and tell me ‘You know what Priya, you just did the right thing.’ And that actually acts as the pillar of solidarity that somebody out there is for you, even if the entire house stands against you."
Quiz her on how the contestants reacted to Zubair Khan being reprimanded by Salman on the show and Priya says, "The contestants were initially a bit shocked because I don’t think they realized the extent of gravity Zubair had gone to and the fact that Salman was so honest, real and upfront. That was actually Salman being Salman and not just the Bigg Boss host or saying what he’s being told to say. That was Salman Khan actually being upset and showing his emotions openly because he felt strongly about it. As a viewer I was completely anti-Zubair. In fact, I tweeted about the fact that he was being really misogynistic on the show and that was coming across really badly and that’s exactly what Salman had to say. Of course,Salman had his own way about it and this changed a lot of perceptions in the house. That is why exactly when Zubair left, Hina suddenly changed her attitude and said, ‘Haan woh toh aisa hi tha’ but I think Salman did the right thing. I think the most beautiful part of it was when Salman came back the next weekend and apologized to all the dogs in the world about calling Zubair a dog. That was Salman being so sassy and I loved it!"
Do the single girls on the show find Salman Khan hot? "Single, double, married and with kids – every girl and woman has a crush on Salman Khan, let me tell you! He is a very charismatic individual and a very good human being at heart and I am sure it shows. Buraiyya sab mein hoti hai par koi bura nahi hota and that’s Salman Khan for you. That’s the beauty of him and that the fact that his brand is called Being Human speaks a lot about him because I think that’s what Salman Khan is – he is human. Good, bad or ugly – at the end of the day he is a humane man and I am sure every girl can relate to that."
Talking about Dhinchak Pooja's entry on the show, Priya says, "Someone like Dhinchak Pooja gives a lot of people hope because we have all been her at some point in our lives. We have all tried to do things that people thought we could not do and that’s the best part of someone like her and I am so glad that she’s on a big platform like this because she totally deserves to. We are on a show where we are including the common man and Dhinchak Pooja represents a common man just hitting it across the world by having self-belief in what she can or can’t do. The reaction to her was interesting, as I felt Hina and Shilpa Shinde were a bit intimidated by the fact that Dhinchak Pooja is in the house and I could see the lukewarm response they had to give and that speaks volumes about them. In fact, Hina didn’t even want to come out to meet her, which is so wrong as that’s not how you treat a guest. Atithi devo bhava – that’s what our country is built on and I felt really terrible for Dhinchak Pooja. But others were really warm and receptive and made her feel special, like Akash Dadlani for instance."
Talking about Bigg Boss Ka Buzz, Priya says, "It's a show for the people and by the people. It is supposed to tell the audience about what the buzz is and who the buzz is about, what’s trending, what’s not and how are the housemates coming across to the social media world, GIFs, memes, getting fans of the contestants involved. We are aiming at all forms of social media as the digital world can change perceptions and drive things."
