Here's an excerpt from the interview.
How was your birthday and did you have any specific plans in mind?
Because it was my 27th birthday and somewhere it struck me that I am no more young and I have become pretty responsible so this year I wanted to take it cool, like last year I threw a birthday party. So this time I just sat at my place and told my self to take it easy and not be hyperactive. But having said all that I ended up cutting 5 cakes. All of the media gathered to celebrate my birthday and I really owe them for that. For someone who didn't want to celebrate her birthday at all, this was a very very special birthday.
What's an ideal birthday plan according to you?
It depends on the situation, this time I wasn't really working I was sitting at home and I didn't really feel the need to go out there and throw a lavish party. You know when you are working and you're making it really really big that time if you throw a party and all it makes sense. Despite that, my birthday turned out to be amazing and I really want to thank the media for coming, they always do such good things for me and write such great things about me.
Speaking about work, you are a part of Khatron Ke Khiladi 8 and also the first finalist of this season, it has come as a shocker for most of us. What do you have to say about that?
The best part is that the episode where I became the finalist aired on my birthday.. what could have been better than this. I started to laugh and said to myself that It's my birthday today and the same episode is airing. When I was shooting for it I had no clue it would air on my birthday. It was such a treat to watch myself becoming the first finalist on my birthday. Everybody from my building right from the kids to the older people came to congratulate me and bless me. I just have one thing to say, It's not the fight of the dog in the fight, it's the fight of the fight in the dog.
You know when you started the show, everybody thought you wouldn't last for more than 3-4 episodes, but you have surprised everybody and made your way to the finale. how does that feel?
So on these kinds of reality shows, you just go there as a contestant and just do what you have to, unlike fiction shows you do not have a script you just have to close your eyes, follow your gut and you don't know what's coming ahead of you. You never know for how long will you last. I was eliminated in the third week and I had come home and I honestly lost my heart that day. I wanted to cry but I did not and you know the next day they (makers of the show) called me up and lied to me saying that Nia a little portion of the reality part is left to be shot, just shoot that and go back home and to my surprise they put me back in the show and that was such a beautiful moment. I did put all my effort to reach till the finale but the show is also equally responsible. Everybody was so motivating which made it very easy for me without them I would never be able to make it.
