Television actress Dipika Kakar won the 12th season of the reality show Bigg Boss, while former Indian Cricketer Sreesanth became the first runner-up of the season. However, Dipika's win was not accepted by many on the social media. The TV actress received a mixed response and she was heavily trolled by being called as the "worst winner" of the reality show. Some supported her, while some took to social media to bash her saying how she did not deserve to take the trophy. Former Bigg Boss winner Shilpa Shinde also tweeted how Dipika Kakar did not deserve to win the show.

Meanwhile, former Bigg Boss contestant Sapna Choudhary in an exclusive chat with HindiRush, reacted to Dipika being trolled for winning the show. She said, "Look, I just want to say that do not think about the one who has won. I would like to congratulate her for winning. She was worth it so she won otherwise anyone else could have. People who have nothing to do troll as they are jobless. Basically, people who can respect themselves can only respect others."

Meanwhile, in an exclusive chat, Sreesanth indirectly and directly did emphasize on the fact that he feels he deserved to win while congratulating Dipika for it. He said, “I met Dipika and her husband Shoaib recently and it was really nice. But I was a little disappointed with her because while I have been asking fans to not target anyone on social media (amidst Sree and Kakar fans online), she hasn’t uttered a word."
