EXCLUSIVE: Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke's Shaheer Sheikh & Rhea Sharma on MishBir chemistry, TRPs & camaraderie
In an exclusive interview with PINKVILLA, Shaheer Sheikh and Rhea Sharma opened up on their chemistry as MishBir, Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke doing well on TRP and their camaraderie off-screen. Read on.
Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke, a spin-off of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, has been raking well on TRPs. The show took the staggering number 1 position in its first week and has been consistent since then. The show stars Shaheer Sheikh and Rhea Sharma in lead roles who have been garnering all the good praises for their portrayal Abir and Mishti impeccably on-screen. Both Shaheer and Rhea are working with each other for the first time and their chemistry as MishBir have already managed to impress a large section of the audience.
While the fans continue to rave about MishBir, we got chatty with the lead actors for our segment PrimeTime Partners where they revealed a few things about each other. Shaheer and Rhea kept it extremely casual and candid and their off-screen chemistry just like their on-screen one seemed extremely fresh and organic. About their chemistry on-screen as MishBir, Rhea exclusively told us, "I think it just happened with time. As we started shooting, we realised that the chemistry on-screen is building. I think we really did not take too many efforts and just did our best." To this, Shaheer added, "I think it is a process and if the person in front of you is a good actor then it has to happen and Rhea is a very good performer. Similarly, even I wanted it to work. The story, the concept, everything is nice, so yes!"
About them being friends, Shaheer said, "We are still working on that but we have a great time shooting with each other." Shaheer was all praises for Rhea while remembering their first meeting and said, "We met first at the mock shoot. Of course, I asked Rajan Sir who is playing Mishti when he finalised her; he showed me the picture and I saw a few clippings of her previous show and I thought she was very natural, which is very important. For me, acting is just reacting to the person in front of me, if I get the right action, I give the right reaction, is what I believe. It is going on well till now."
On the show doing well on the TRP charts, Shaheer exclaimed, "In the very first week when the TRP came, I was shocked and surprised. I was not expecting that. I wasn't expecting MishBir to become so popular this soon either. People are liking the chemistry and I was very surprised to see that. This thing is already working. I thought this is not the kind of show people would like to make right now; this is not the trend right now; it is very different and a very concept-driven show if you notice. The issues which we highlighted in the very first episode, we are still on those issues and trying to prove a point to the audience. We are giving the right message and it is working as well, so it is a good feeling."
Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke rose on the TRP charts making it to the top 5 list this week.
