Rithvik Dhanjani in an exclusive chat opens up on his stint as a host on India's Got Talent, his biggest takeaway from 2018 and New Years plan. Read on.
Rithvik Dhanjani is currently in Rome, Italy when he chatted with us over his stint as host for India's Got Talent, the toodles diaries, the most difficult part of being a host and of course, his New Years Plan with Asha Negi. The actor has been slaying it as the host alongside Bharti Singh for IGT which aired its finale episode recently. Over to Rithvik:
What is it that you will miss the most about IGT?
I think the madness on sets. I think it is the only show where I get to do all weird kinds of thing, all the stunts with the contestants, Bharti throwing me in between situations I am not aware of. Every time we had to do different things with different talents, I think it was lovely to a part of the show which offered so much differentiation. I think that is something I will miss the most about IGT.
Most challenging part?
The most challenging part as a host when it comes to IGT is I think it is very important for the host to respect every talent, who is doing everything they could in their spectrum of talent, I think I respect that. As a host, the most difficult part is to become one with everybody. There was so many diverse talent and language, that it was very important for me to become one and hold them together, all of them have to have that faith in me regarding the same.
The toodles diaries this year was a hit. Your favourite memory of it?
The toodles diaries were maddening. I think it became a rage amongst the social media fanatics. It was beautiful, I don’t really think that I can pick one from it. It was a lot of fun and every bit of it was amazing. I especially loved the way Karan gave his comment on everyone’s clothes... that was very funny.
After your stint in web series, reality shows and as a host, when do we see you back in daily soaps?
Daily soap, I don’t know actually. I would only like to do what excites me in the fiction space and I don’t think I really have had daily soap scripts that have come to me and excited me much. But we will see how it goes. As I said, 2019 will have a lot more of me in terms of fiction space and not just reality space.
Your New Years plan with Asha Negi?
Asha is shooting and I am here in Rome, Italy. We are going to be spending the New Year separately because we both were shooting. I just had this five days off and she didn’t but I thought I would take these time off as I usually don’t get offs. So, I took this trip. She is in Mumbai and I am going to miss her.
The biggest takeaway from 2018?
I think 2018 has taught me so much of self-worth, about how important it is to love yourself and how important to feel the gratitude for things you do. I have a lot of gratitude and that is something I have taken from 2018 and walking into 2019 with the same.
Here's wishing everyone a very happy New Year!
