EXCLUSIVE: Rati Pandey on her character in Porus: I am the central character in the show
Rati Pandey talks about her character in Sony TV's Porus.
Television beauty Rati Pandey is finally back after a long sabbatical with Sony TV's grand show Porus. Rati will be seen playing the character of a mother to none other than the show's lead Porus himself. She will also be seen performing physical stunts and a brave queen on the show.
We at Pinkvilla exclusively got in touch with Rati Pandey and spoke to her about her show, Rati got candid with us and shared everything, from her sabbatical to her character in the show Porus.
Here's an excerpt from the interview:
You're coming back after quite a long break, any specific reason?
Umm not really, I was on a sabbatical but personally, it's not quite a long time for me but yes for viewers it is a long time. The last show I did was also with Swastik production and I am fortunate enough that they have chosen me for this character of Porus' mother and I was the first priority for this character. I was the first actor to get on board and then I had to wait for 9-10 months.. so that's how time has passed by.
Are you picky about your body of work?
Definitely yes, I am not choosy but yes I am very particular about what I have to do in my life, both personally and professionally. As an actor, I don't see myself doing every show in various characters. That's why I guess viewers also expect a lot from me.
You have played extremely different characters in all your shows, tell us about that?
Yes, and I feel very blessed that I have been able to do so many characters and such different characters and I am very fortunate to be a part of such a historical show like Porus also because it's a very very different and a big show. Be it the sets, the locations or the visuals, they have the best of all in this show.
Since you're playing a mother to Porus, do you feel your character is vital enough to the show?
Yes yes completely, otherwise I wouldn't have picked up the show because unless and until it's an important character I wouldn't have picked up this show. The makers of the show cast me first and believed in me and said to me that you are the central character in the show and definitely I am the central character in the show because my story is running right from the initial episodes.
