Kaun Banega Crorepati 9's first crorepati Anamika Majumdar is a social worker and married with two kids. She runs an NGO called Faith In India. She hails from Jamshedpur and is a very active social worker. She is the first participant of Kaun Banega Crorepati season 9 to win a whopping sum of 1 crore and is delighted to be declared as the first crorepati of season 9.
Pinkvilla got in touch with Anamika Majumdar and in an exclusive interview with us, Anamika got candid and spoke about her experience on KBC, Amitabh Bachchan, and also her NGO. Here's an excerpt from the interview.
1) How was your experience on Kaun Banega Crorepati and that too sitting right in front of the legendary Amitabh Bachchan?
The experience was amazing, and he is not just Amitabh Bachchan, he is 'amazing' Amitabh Bachchan. I felt very good sitting in front of him.
2) Was there any kind of pressure while playing the game?
I had a lot of pressure since there were many people who had a lot of hope from me. I was also under pressure because had I lost the game then a lot of poor children who have hopes from me would have been disheartened.
3) You run an NGO called Faith In India, tell us more about it?
So Faith In India basically is Female Aura initiative towards hope in Indi. Through the NGO we help poor children and women and try to give them a good life by making sure to provide them with education and we try to minimise their problems as much as we can.
4) Your best memory from the sets of Kaun Banega Crorepati?
Amit Ji said a very nice thing to me, he said, whatever amount you win, invest it wisely and make more from that and use that money for good things. Initially, I thought once I win the money I'll use the amount to full fill my shortcomings but once Amit Ji said this line I have made it a point to use this money to benefit the needy and I will try to reach out to as many people as I can.
